Ellicot SDA – Urban Life Center

The Urban Life Center opened its door for the community of Baltimore in 2021. The center seeks to empower the community through an integrated approach encompassing health programs, nutritional guidance, personal growth, mental health support, community services, events, and a delicious juice bar opened Monday to Friday. We build bridges, share knowledge, and empower our neighbors on their journey to a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Monthly Food Distribution
Each month, we provided nutritious food packages to families facing food insecurity. The funds helped us purchase essential groceries and produce, ensuring that over 70 families received a reliable source of sustenance. Around 900 nutrition food bags were distributed in 2024.

Back-to-School Drive
Your donation played a key role in our back-to-school drive, where we distributed backpacks, school supplies, and uniforms to over 200 children in need. This initiative ensured that children in our community had the tools necessary to start the school year off strong, reducing the burden on families who are struggling to make ends meet.

My City My Passion Community Projects
“My City, My Passion” was a week-long local mission trip that brought 50 teens and young adults together to serve the ULC neighborhood and surrounding Baltimore area. Youth worked on various projects, including cleaning streets, removing weeds from sidewalks, assisting at the Refugee Center, revitalizing Paterson Park, organizing classrooms at the Institute of Virtual Arts, and harvesting produce at First Fruits Farm, a loyal ULC partner. Funds supported materials for the projects, supplies, and meals for the participants and counselors. The local mission trip provided a meaningful opportunity for youth to engage with the community, make a tangible impact, and build lasting connections while learning the importance of service and collective responsibility.
